I’m so excited to have my studio back.  It’s time for some new family photos of all my “babies”  I’ve only gotten 2 of them in there thus far…but I figured I’d share those anyway.

And hey…we had family visit this weekend.  So we took some photos of my sweet 3-month-old neice, Jordyn.

Mommy, Daddy, and baby.  (Sorry Reds fans…everyone in our family are born and raised Cubbies!  That’s what happens when you grow up in Central Illinois.)

And finally…my parents…and their dog who hates being in my studio and makes my job really hard.

Ugh!  Difficult day!

This afternoon, Matt was mowing our backyard and ran over a rabbit’s nest.  Luckily none of them were hurt or killed.  They did, however, escape and start hopping all over the backyard.  The last thing we want to do is jack-up nature and cause the deaths of 5 baby bunnies.  So we caught 3 of them and put them in a cat carrier while we tried to figure out what to do.

We were frantically calling everyone we could think of that might know of a wildlife rehabilitator in the area that could help.  We finally talked to our vet and realized we should have just called them first.  Here’s a tip to anyone who ever finds themself in this situation…put them back where you found them.  Mama bunny will come back and find them…even if you have touched them.  So that’s what we did.  But not until we got a couple of photos.

We were so excited to get to photograph another former foster, Frankie, for this project.  He was our second pittie foster and was adopted to a wonderful couple.  And 3 months ago got his own lil human brother, Kade.

I love people’s reactions when I tell them I own a pit bull.  It’s usually and “Ohhhhhh” followed by an awkward silence.  What makes this more uncomfortable is when you are at the pharmacy counter getting a prescription for Prozac filled for your pit bull.  I can only imagine the thoughts that go through the cashier’s mind.  Today’s cashier was a lil more candid than most and actually asked me…”So, your pit bull has to be medicated all the time?”  This was after I had already explained that she was diagnosed by a reputable veterinarian with OCD and if she’s not medicated she’ll lick her legs raw and have sores all over her paws.  This has nothing to do with her behavior toward people or other animals.  It’s to protect her from herself.

So no worries pharmacy cashiers…we do not have a baby-eating pit bull who has to constantly be hyped up on SSRIs in order to not be roaming the streets killing things!!!  I hope you can sleep a lil better tonight.

We had a crazy busy weekend.  My parents, my sister, her husband, and my nephew, Hunter all came to visit and partake in some of Cincinnati’s awesomeness, including The Beach Waterpark, The Cincinnati Zoo, and Valley Vineyards for the 4th of July weekend.  We also managed to squeeze in fireworks.  We had a really great time.  It’s so great to spend time with family, especially when they live far away and you don’t get to see them very often.  I took a few family photos of my sister and her family before they left this morning.  Here’s a sneak peak…

I’m so excited to be a part of my newest Life Group (sexy word for small group) at 4 Corners Church.  It’s a photography group led by Paul Armstrong.  I’m so excited to get to learn from a great photographer and hang out with some awesome people all summer.  Can’t wait to get shooting with you all!!!

This afternoon, our foster dog, Alison is meeting with a Cincinnati police officer to see if she could be trained as a drug dog.  Matt and I feel that with her strong prey drive and the fact that she’s always searching for the cats when she’s loose in the house (they are locked up during these times) that she might be really good at it.

This could be great for the pit bull breed to have another one of its kind as a working dog.  And I can’t think of a better home for Alison.

Last weekend I got to meet my new neice, Jordyn Marie, for the first time.  She’s so gorgeous.  All arms and legs.  She’s gonna be a heart breaker.  These are some of my favorite pics…

Ok…so, I’ve been really bad about blogging lately.  Matt and I have been very busy with a lot of life stuff other than our business (not bad stuff…just stuff).  So I apologize for the lack of blogging.  But hopefully this will cheer you up.

I took this photo with my phone, so pardon the poor quality.  I love my vet…and this sign in their parking lot just gave me another reason why.

This past weekend, Matt and I got to travel home to Illinois to visit family.  My sister-in-law is pregnant and ready to give birth any day now.  So we took some photos of “Baby J” (its either gonna be Jordyn or Josie…they haven’t decided yet) inside of Mommy’s tummy.

And I can’t take enough photos of my nephew Hunter (who is also expecting a lil baby brother or sister later this year!)  This time we photographed him in his Easter outfit…which I think is just adorable.
